KidsKids, Guns & Reality: An Honest Conversation with Tim Kelly
Firearms are a big part of American life. Whether we like it or not, guns are here — in homes, in vehicles, carried by citizens for protection, both legally and otherwise. Some are stored responsibly. Others get stuffed between couch cushions or hidden in closets. That’s reality. And our kids are growing up in it.
Course Description
This conversation is about facing the truth and deciding we’re going to prepare our children instead of hoping they never come across a gun. In this open discussion, Tim Kelly — Marine veteran, firearms instructor, and author of Your World Is Not A Gun-Free Zone — will talk about the practical things that actually matter when raising kids around firearms:
How to talk to kids about guns in an age-appropriate way (without over-explaining or creating fear).
Realistic storage solutions that work in real households
How to take away the mystery and curiosity that often leads kids to do the one thing we hope they won’t
Tim’s approach comes from years of teaching families and from raising his own kids. He believes it’s better to educate children on our terms than to wait until a friend pulls out their dad’s hidden handgun and shows it to them.
If you’ve ever wondered how to handle this topic without making it weird or scary, this conversation is for you. Come with your questions. There will be time to talk openly.
Every attendee receives a FREE signed copy of Tim’s book.
